I’ve been working on a new feature recently, something that can help promote authors without them having to give up too much time writing a post or answering long interview questions… Introducing THE QUICK FIRE QUIZ! The first part is a quick fire part, picking either/or, and then some favourite bits. If you want to take part, please email me at email@example.com
My very first participant is the fantastic Chrissie Manby, author of loads of amazing books including Running Away From Richard, the “Proper Family” series, Seven Sunny Days, and her amazing new book A Fairy Tale For Christmas. I’ll be reviewing the book really, really soon, but here’s our quiz!
QUICK FIRE ROUND
Tea, coffee or hot chocolate? Tea. Way too much of it. Around ten cups a day!
Physical books or eBooks? Depends on the contents. The more difficult the book the easier it is to read as a physical book, I think. I tend to skip over things in eBook format.
Cat or dog? Dog! I would love to have a dog. One day.
Action flick or rom com? Rom com.
White or milk chocolate? White chocolate.
New York or Los Angeles? LA. I’ve spent quite a bit of time there over the years and always find it exciting and inspiring. Also, the weather is better than in NYC.
City or country? Depends on the city.
Bath or shower? Bath. Can’t read in the shower.
Writing by hand or typing? Typing. My handwriting is so bad even I can’t read it.
Samsung or iPhone? iPhone. Those Samsung things explode!
Summer or winter? Autumn. Specifically, mid-September to mid-October.
Pizza or Chinese takeaway? Pizza.
X Factor or Strictly? Strictly.
Twitter or Facebook? Neither. Both have the ability to put me in a very bad mood.
Favourite Friends character? Chandler. I think. It’s so long ago I can barely remember!
Favourite holiday destination? Italy! Tuscany. I would love to live in Florence. The culture, the weather, the food!
Favourite book? Cooking With Fernet Branca by James Hamilton-Paterson. It’s set in Tuscany…
Favourite author? Anne Tyler is always wonderful. In real life, my favourite authors are Lucy Dillon, Alexandra Potter, Michele Gorman and Juliet Ashton, who are all great writers and endlessly lovely friends.
Favourite movie? Strictly Ballroom. It’s just so colourful and funny and uplifting. Guaranteed to put a smile on my face.
Favourite Netflix series (can be any show on Netflix)? Don’t do Netflix!
Favourite part about being a writer? Never having to go to an office.
Favourite holiday (Christmas, Easter, Halloween)? Christmas, for sure. I mean, there’s really no contest is there?
