HAPPY NEW YEAR, PEOPLE! Yesterday I shared the books I’m excited to read in January, and now I bring you my bloggish resolutions for 2017!
Read more physical books
I have a lot of physical books to read. A LOT. (And ebooks, too, but you can’t see them so they don’t count!) So I want to make sure I get my TBR pile down at least a little bit. It makes me feel a bit dizzy to see all the books I have to read (not that it stops me from buying more!!!!!!) but what are you going to do? Publishers just keep publishing the most amazing books!
No more buying books
OK, so I say this one every. single. year. BUT! I really mean it this year. What’s different, I hear you ask. Well, I don’t actually know, but I am going to try my absolute hardest to just NOT BUY BOOKS ANY MORE. I have plenty! I could literally not buy any new books for ten years* and I would STILL HAVE ENOUGH BOOKS. So NO MORE, Leah. Behave. Read all the books that are crying for attention every day.
*I am telling the truth, this is NOT an exaggeration.
Do more on the blog than just reviews
Here’s the truth: People don’t seem to read reviews any more. Sad, but true. People want to see other content. They want fun posts, other kinds of posts, so I’m going to try and do that! I’ll be doing wrap-ups at the end of each month, writing about authors I love, letting authors take over with my quick fire quiz, I have plans. It’s just actually, ya know, WRITING THE POSTS.
Build my social media followers!
My social media stats are pretty poor, so I want to increase my followers, be more active, and just see where it takes me! I want to interact more, make friends, the whole she-bang. Here are my current stats *Dies of embarrassment*:
You can visit my brand new Tumblr here: https://girlvsbooooks.tumblr.com/ where I talk about books I’ve just finished/currently reading.
I suppose we’ll find out in February if I can increase them any more!
I just want to read more. I spend so much time procrastinating, instead of reading and I want to spend more time reading. I read 197 books in 2016, which is amazing but also kind of makes me angry I didn’t get to 200, because I was THREE AWAY. THREE BOOKS AWAY. I also know I could have read more. So I’m going to aim for 250 next year. AIM BIG! Why not? I’m also not going to waste time on books I’m not enjoying, when I could be reading something amazing instead, so there’s that. And, as always, I will try and finish some book series I still haven’t finished.
