What They Say:
Full of high society debutantes, impossible tasks, and featuring a heroine who has confidence to spare, the final novel in the Dodge Cove trilogy is a modern twist on a classic fairy tale.
Natasha was devastated when Jackson, her first love, disappeared without a word only to pop up months later as a famous DJ. But now she’s over it—over him!—and ready to move on with her life. Isn’t she?
Jackson thought he was leaving Dodge Cove behind forever when he set off to LA to start his DJ career. But the one thing he hasn’t been able to leave behind is the memory of his first love, Natasha, and now that he’s proven his success, he’s coming home to win her back…
Don’t miss No Second Chances, the final book in Kate Evangelista’s romantic young adult Dodge Cove trilogy.
No Second Chances was an intriguing read for me. At first, I was really excited to read the book because I loved Natasha in No Holding Back, but I was also a bit terrified because how could I like Jackson? How could I agree with what he did and let him have a second chance, like Natasha also wondered? He just LEFT. He doesn’t deserve a second chance!
It’s quite clear Natasha and Jackson both have feelings for each other and while I’ll never understand why Jackson just upped and left (surely anyone with a heart would GET IN TOUCH WITH THEIR GIRLFRIEND?!?!?!), I did want them to get back together because there was SO MUCH LOVE THERE. Natasha didn’t want to admit it, and tried to avoid Jackson as best she could so she wouldn’t be suckered in, but it was vastly clear neither of them had gotten over the other, and so I was really rooting for them! I felt like Jackson was actually remorseful which helped a lot. He was willing to stay in Dodge Cove until he’d made amends and I appreciated that.
I really enjoyed No Second Chances. I’ve loved the two Dodge Cove books I’ve read and I still need to read Caleb’s story, eventually. I loved Natasha and Jackson, I loved that they were more grown-up teenagers than I’ve ever read about, and Dodge Cove sounds like a proper posh place to live (boy, do I want a mansion!). In the end, I loved No Second Chances. I had my worries, I had my doubts, but I really loved the story and Kate Evangelista has the best, easy to read writing style I’ve ever come across.
